Today I drank a cold brew from a place that is extremely well acclaimed on navigatory applications.
Quickly I sipped and understood where their beans were imported from.
Single origin: but the origin is a cardboard box from 1997 that held knockoff mini candy bars. In our climates radical heat this box has melted and fused with the cardboard. Then, they cleaned off the chocolate and nutty parts of the candy. Within this plastic and cardboard abomination was water stored and used to make a cold brew.
The aroma hinted at a candied past, but the body was thin and sorrowful. If there is magic in this brew it has turned me cruel(er) and unkind and I now yearn for the fall of Rome.
If there is reason to go to this coffee shop, it is for a small fantastical display where you can stand in front of fake wings and look like an angel in good lighting. Such theatrics are needed to appear closer to heaven as this cold brew is dragging me the opposite direction today. There is whimsy here, and fun beverages masked with sugars and milks, but I am a severe, gnarled sorcerer with limited appreciation for these theatrics.
